In Open Sky Wellbeing’s words
Storytelling Through Dance is a 4-week series of Hawaiian Hula classes at Open Sky with Anna Carbonell. Hawaiian Hula is a dance form from the islands of Hawaii. It is deep in culture and spirituality. It is a physical expression of stories, prayers, offerings and love through dance. Anna has been dancing the hula for over 30 years and is thrilled to bring this interpretive dance form to Open Sky. She will lead this 4-week series with 'oli (chanting), basic Olelo Hawai'i (Hawaiian language), and hula 'auana (modern hula). Anna has been blessed by her Kumu Hula (master teachers) to teach hula. She is grateful for the knowledge they passed down to her and is thrilled to share it to the community at Open Sky and in the Byron Shire. This Hawaiian Hula series is open to students who are intermediate to advanced levels. You are encouraged to register for the entire 4-week series but are welcome to drop in a class. 4-week series: $88 Drop-in: $25 Open Sky members: receive 10% discount Class series dates: 9, 16, 23, & 30 November 2026
