Painting from Presence
Sit, breathe and come back to yourself.
In Boeddhistisch Centrum Amsterdam - Triratna’s words
@ About the activity What can emerge when we can observe the thinking mind and create from a place of awareness? Painting from Presence is an exploration of intuitive painting inspired by Buddhist practices of mindfulness, non-judgment, and letting go. Rather than beginning with an idea of what we want to create, we practice meeting the blank canvas with openness — like a beginner’s mind. We allow colours, shapes, movements, and impulses to arise without immediately trying to understand, control, or judge them. Through intuitive drawing and painting exercises, we explore the space between awareness and expression, stillness and movement, emptiness and form. No previous painting experience is required, only curiosity and playfulness. About the program We will start with a meditation followed by intuitive painting in silence. Tea and lighter snack will be provided. In 2025 she started participating in the meditations at Triratna Boeddhistisch Centrum and feel a natural call to support the centrum in any way she can. The last years she has become increasingly fascinated by how meditation combined with intuitive painting can open a doorway to parts of ourselves that may otherwise remain hidden or inaccessi
