The Art of Pranayama Level 2 – Breathing Into Balance Breathing for Calm, Clarity, and Vitality Deepen your relationship with the breath and explore the subtler dimensions of Pranayama in this ongoing weekly class that builds upon the foundations established in Level 1. Rooted in the ancient yogic tradition, Level 2 introduces more advanced breathing techniques, breath retention (Kumbhaka), and refined practices designed to cultivate greater awareness, balance the nervous system, enhance vitality, and develop steadiness of mind. Through a progressive and mindful approach, we’ll explore the relationship between breath, Prana (life force), and the mind, moving beyond the mechanics of breathing toward a deeper experience of inner stillness. Each session may include: * Breath Awareness & Refinement – deepening sensitivity to the breath and its subtle rhythms * Breath Ratios & Retention (Kumbhaka) – gradually introducing breath holds to develop greater control, concentration, and awareness * Classical Pranayama Practices – exploring techniques such as Sitali, and Sitkari, Surya Bhedana, Ujjayi, Bhastrika, Anuloma Viloma, and Bhramari * Additional Yogic Techniques – introducing practices such as Resonance Breathing, Kapalabhati with Kumbhaka, Single Nostril Kapalabhati, Agnisara, * Guided Relaxation & Meditation – integrating the practice and experiencing the stillness that arises as the breath and mind become quiet This class is designed for students who have completed Pranayama Level 1 or have an established foundation in conscious breathing. Practices will be introduced progressively, allowing students to deepen their understanding, refine their technique, and develop a sustainable personal practice.
