Friday · 17:00–20:00 Saturday · 10:00–17:00 ____ For centuries, smoke has carried prayer, protection, memory, scent and intention. In this two-day immersion, Daniela opens the world of incense through story, plant knowledge, ritual practice and making. We begin with the history and meaning of incense: how smoke has been used in ceremony, cleansing, prayer and everyday life, and how different traditions have worked with herbs, resins and gums. We explore how to prepare plants for incense, how to dry herbs properly, how to work with smoke, and how to smudge with awareness and intention. You are invited to bring herbs you already feel connected to or simply love the scent of, so that part of the learning begins with your own relationship to plants. On the second day, we go deeper into the materials themselves: different plant classifications, resins, gums, aromatic woods and herbs, what they are traditionally used for, how they behave when burned, and how different aromas meet each other. From there, the work becomes practical. You will learn how to prepare and organise your materials, smell and study different combinations, understand what blends harmonise and what clashes, and begin to formulate your own incense intuitively. Together we move through the whole process, from raw plant material to finished blend. The weekend closes with a small initiation into working with smoke and incense as a conscious practice.
