In West Asheville Yoga’s words

Yoga Nidra, also known as yogic sleep, is an intention and sleep based, deeply restorative, guided meditation technique that brings you to the liminal state between waking and sleeping. Using the tools of relaxation, breath, visualization, and intention, you will be guided into conscious rest to experience presence and relaxed awareness. Yoga Nidra is a calming practice of non-doing that can be helpful for anyone who is wanting to cultivate a sense of spaciousness in daily life. This restful practice is especially beneficial for those who have a hard time falling or staying asleep. Yoga Nidra regulates the nervous system and can help create a foundation of peace and perspective in our challenging times. It can be particularly supportive for people experiencing symptoms of chronic pain, depression, fear, anxiety or PTSD. After the Yoga Nidra has moved you into a liminal state of rest and relaxation, the drum will drop you deeper into the realms of dream, imagination and journey. Yoga Nidra is practiced in stillness. No experience needed. All are welcome. Come as you are.
