What the studio offers

Pilates is the main practice here, and Reformer is the style that shapes most of the week. The core and pelvic floor come up in the majority of classes, often alongside a focus on strength and tone. Classes such as Reformer Core and glutes, Reformer Peach Perfect and Reformer Pilates Tone are labeled by level, so it is easy to see where a class sits before you book.

Alongside the Reformer work there is rebounding cardio, barre and a few spin sessions. Mat classes like Mat Hotties do Pilates are open to all levels and give a quieter way into the practice.

How the week runs

Classes start as early as 5am and run through the morning, with about a third beginning before 9am. Evenings have their share too, with the last class starting at 8pm. Weekend classes are few, so most people build their practice around weekday mornings and early evenings.

Classes run about 50 minutes, and the facilitators, including Sydney, Jennifer, Jolie, Jocelyn, Nia, Karla, Yaneth, Melina and Mysti, lead sessions in English and Spanish across the week.

11:11 Pilates and Barre (Irving): questions and answers

Are there classes in English and in Spanish?

Most classes are taught in English and in Spanish, about half each. Reformer and mat sessions, rebounding and barre are all offered in both languages, so a newcomer can choose the class that feels easiest to follow.

Is this studio good for beginners?

Most of the week's classes are Reformer-based, and the core and pelvic floor run through many of them. The Reformer Pilates Tone and Core and glutes classes are labeled level 1 or level 2, and mat sessions such as Mat Hotties do Pilates are open to all levels.

When do most people practice here?

More than half of the classes start in the morning, and about a third begin before 9am, with the earliest at 5am. Evening classes make up about a third of the schedule, running as late as 8pm.

Which days are busiest?

Tuesday, Thursday and Friday carry the most classes. Weekend sessions are few, about one in ten, so the week is built around early mornings and weekdays.

How long are the classes and who teaches them?

Most classes run 50 minutes, with a few spin cardio sessions at 45 minutes. Classes are taught by a team of about ten facilitators, among them Sydney, Jennifer, Jolie and Nia, who lead the most sessions.

What kinds of classes are on offer?

Nearly all of the classes are Pilates, with Reformer the most common style. Rebounding cardio, barre, strength work and spin cardio add variety, and a few sessions, such as Reformer Candlelight, have a softer feel.
