About Studio

Studio is a yoga space in Lafayette, a short drive from Boulder, and its schedule leans toward the morning. Most classes start before noon, and a good share begin before 9am, so the day can open with a practice. Vinyasa and flow lead the timetable, and the yin, restore and sound classes give the week a slower pace.

It suits you if

  • you like to practice before the day begins
  • you want a gentle start with restorative or yin classes
  • you enjoy flowing vinyasa with a steady rhythm

How the week runs

Morning is the rhythm here. More than half of the classes fall before noon, and about a third start before 9am. The busiest starts are 6:30am, 8am and 9:30am, so an early practice before work is easy to fit. Evenings are more measured, with about a fifth of the classes in the evening and the latest start at 7:15pm. Midday is quiet, and weekends hold about one class in ten.

What you will practice

The core of the schedule is yoga, from vinyasa and soul flow to vin yin and all levels classes that suit a mixed room. Yin, restore and restorative classes give the week a slower counterpoint, and a few sessions add yoga nidra, sound bath or hot stones. Breathwork, pranayama and meditation appear only in small numbers, so anyone looking for those will find fewer options here.

Studio: questions and answers

When do most people practice at Studio?

Most classes at Studio run in the morning, and about a third start before 9am, with the busiest starts at 6:30am, 8am and 9:30am. Evenings are quieter, with about a fifth of classes in the evening and the latest start at 7:15pm.

Is Studio good for beginners?

Yes. Studio lists a first class ever option, and its beginner friendly Soul Foundations class is open to all students. Gentle yoga, RESTorative yoga and accessible yoga are also on the list, which makes them good places to start slowly.

What kinds of classes does Studio offer?

Vinyasa and flow classes make up much of the schedule, with Soul Flow and Vin Yin among the names you will see. Yin, restore and restorative classes come next, along with gentle yoga and yoga nidra. Sound bath, breathwork and meditation appear only in small numbers.

How long are the classes, and is there a pass?

Most classes run about an hour, and a few all levels and yin sessions run closer to 75 minutes. Studio does not take a class pass, so each visit is booked as its own class.

Who leads the classes?

Dozens of facilitators lead classes here, and Sarah Woods, Charlotte Sodergren, Melissa Carey, Beth Rae and James Keener teach the most classes. Each facilitator brings a different approach, so it can help to try a few before settling on a favorite voice.
