Live music in Düsseldorf
Düsseldorf has a small but steady set of classes where live musicians or a DJ are part of the practice. The sessions are mostly yoga, often vinyasa and flow, and the music is not background to the movement but the thing that sets its pace. A handful of studios offer these classes, and most of them run in the evening.

How the music shapes each class
The classes on this page are built around sound. Inside Flow sessions are a vinyasa practice where music leads each transition, and the sequence changes with the track, from slow and soft to fast and strong. The idea is that the breath and the movement become one, with the music carrying you from one posture to the next.
VAYU yoga & more offers Techno Yoga, a 75 minute class in which the movement follows the beat. Other sessions bring in a DJ or live musicians, so the sound and the rhythm are present throughout rather than only at the start or end.
Where and when they run
Most classes take place in the evening, with starts clustered around 7:15pm, 7:30pm and 8:15pm. A smaller group of sessions starts at noon, and about a fifth of the classes fall on weekends. Tuesday, Thursday and Sunday are the days when the most classes begin, which makes them a good place to start if you want a regular rhythm.
Both Inside Flow® Studio Düsseldorf in Flingern Nord and VAYU yoga & more in Pempelfort have the most classes on this page. Facilitators such as Janina, MĀLINĪ - Maria Wedel, Jenna, Lisa Knickmann and Maila lead many of the sessions, and the studios describe their own spaces and approach on their websites.
