What the classes look like

Vinyasa is the style that leads the studio, with flow classes and hatha sessions appearing often alongside it. A vinyasa/hatha combo and a straightforward vinyasa flow are both on the schedule, and power vinyasa adds a stronger option for those who want more effort.

Yin and restorative classes make up a steady share of the timetable too. Chakra Aligning Yin and Vin Yin offer longer holds and quieter pacing, while restore and calm classes give the week a slower counterpoint.

When and with whom

Most of the classes run 60 minutes. Morning classes make up more than half of the schedule, with the earliest starting at 8:30am, and evening classes account for about a third, with the latest starting at 8pm. Midday is not part of the timetable.

The studio's teachers, including Elisa, Beatriz, Cathey, Melody, Daniela and Nancy, share the bulk of the classes between them. Monday, Tuesday and Thursday tend to be the busiest days.

JZT Dance & Yoga: questions and answers

How long are the classes and when do they start?

Most classes run 60 minutes. The schedule leans toward mornings and early evenings, with the earliest class starting at 8:30am and the latest at 8pm.

What kinds of yoga are taught here?

Vinyasa is the style that leads, with flow and hatha close behind. Yin, restorative and calm classes also appear regularly, along with a few power yoga and strong sessions.

Which days and times are busiest?

Monday, Tuesday and Thursday have the most classes. Morning starts around 9am and evening starts around 7:30pm and 8pm are the most common.

Who teaches the classes?

Elisa, Beatriz, Cathey, Melody, Daniela and Nancy lead the most classes, and about ten facilitators teach here in total. Julia and Ondine also appear regularly on the schedule.

Where is the studio?

JZT Dance & Yoga sits at 4500 Park Avenue in Weehawken, New Jersey, just across the Hudson from Manhattan. The studio is a handful of places in the area rather than one large center, so the surrounding neighborhood of Weehawken is the place to look for it.

Is it suitable for beginners?

Classes come with a mix of levels, with vinyasa flow and hatha offering steady sequences and yin and restorative classes asking for slower, quieter movement. A vinyasa/hatha combo is a sensible first class if you want a mix of both styles.
