What the desk body classes are

Most of the collection is yoga, mobility and stretch, and vinyasa, with a steady share of strength and pilates alongside. The classes are built around the back, the neck, the shoulders and the hips, so the work often moves between opening, releasing and gently strengthening the same areas. Dynamic Vinyasa Flow at Yoga Lab in Plainpalais is a flowing session with mobility and strengthening, and Yoga Hip Release at Soma House in Eaux-Vives is built on deep hip-opening stretches.

The midday timing is what sets this collection apart. Most classes run in the middle of the day, with a steady run of evening starts, so a practice can sit between two meetings. Spine Corrector and Tower at Red and Red Specialty Coffee and Reformer Pilates in Les Vernets is one of the pilates options, and Atelier Mouvement Intuitif at Centre Aloeh Thérapies in Les Pâquis offers a women-only, free movement session for the hips.

Where and when to practice

Yoga Lab, Red and Red, Centre Aloeh Thérapies and Soma House each host a good share of these classes. Plainpalais and Les Vernets are where most of the classes are, and Eaux-Vives and Les Pâquis follow. Classes are typically around an hour long, and a few studios take ClassPass.
