The shape of the week at Kalea

Kalea is a handful of rooms in one building on Erdkampsweg. Its week leans toward the morning: about a third of the classes fall in the morning, and the earliest starts are at 9:30am. Midday sessions and a few afternoon classes fill the rest of the day, while evenings are quieter, with a smaller number of classes starting as late as 7:15pm.

The most common class is the parent and child format. Alongside the Kalea baby courses, which are organized by birth month, there is Babyturnen, a continuing class where families come back week after week. Music groups for toddlers and young children, named after the Krakehlchen, bring singing, drumming and clapping into the rhythm of the week.

Yoga and practice for everyone

Beyond the family classes, Kalea offers yoga in several forms. A calm, gentle yoga practice is one of the more common offerings, and there are vinyasa and flow classes, a focus class and a restorative practice. Breathwork and meditation appear in the timetable as well.

Baby massage is combined with baby yoga in one class, and a core and pelvic floor class and a back class sit alongside the prenatal and postnatal offerings. A relaxation group for children aged six to ten offers a quiet hour away from school and screens, and a gentle evening yoga flow suits adults who want to slow down after the day.
