What the classes are

Most of the classes in this collection are yoga, and nearly all are built around a parent and child. The postnatal classes are for parents with a baby, and the parent and child yoga classes are for children up to about eight. Fauves Yoga Lyon in Saint-Georges offers several of these, including a postnatal class with the baby and a dance class where the baby is carried in a wrap to a playlist. Gentle movement is common, and a smaller number of classes focus on connection, joy or partner yoga.

The acro yoga class at Gotamyoga in Laënnec is a playful duo practice for a parent and child, using games, lifts and small challenges to build trust. It is one of the few classes here that is not gentle yoga, and it runs longer than most, at about 75 minutes.

When the classes run

Morning is the main time for these classes, with more than half starting before noon and the busiest starts at 9am and 10am. Midday classes start around 2:15pm and 3pm, and the latest start in this collection is 4:45pm. There are no evening classes and none before 9am. Weekend classes are a small part of the schedule, and Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday are the busiest days.

Most people who come here practice with their child during the day, so the rhythm of the week fits a parent's schedule more than a working person's evening.
