What a practice here looks like
Point Reyes Yoga is built around yoga, and most of its classes fall into that practice. The studio leans toward flow and vinyasa, which move with the breath, alongside gentle, restorative and yin classes that go slower and stay longer in each shape.
The timetable is weighted toward the morning. Most classes start before noon, and the earliest begins at 6:15am. Classes also run in the evening, with the latest starting at 6pm. Weekends have a fair share of the classes.
Classes, length and who leads them
Classes are usually an hour long. The flow and vinyasa classes can run longer, at 75 minutes. The studio has about ten facilitators, and Amanda Giacomini, Katie Jay, Peggy Orr, Cecilia Sandoval, Patricia Yenawine and Sophia Tolbert lead the most classes.
A new student might begin with a gentle class, which is slower and more forgiving, and move to flow once the breath and the pace feel familiar.
