praxis vita is a studio in Steinhausen, Munich, that works mostly with new parents. Its schedule centers on postnatal Rückbildung courses that rebuild the pelvic floor, deep core and back, with some sessions taking place alongside the baby. Alongside them run parent-and-child music and play classes and a small number of calmer offerings like sound bath and meditation.

Postnatal courses and more
The core of the studio is its Rückbildung series. The basic course, Rückbildung I, is offered in several slots across the week, some with the baby present and some without. Rückbildung II is an advancing course that deepens the work on pelvic floor, abdomen and core with more dynamic exercises and gentle strength training.
Beyond postnatal work, the studio offers yoga, mobility and stretch, breathwork, meditation and sound-based classes such as healing sound sessions with bowls and gong. Prenatal classes are also part of the mix, though they make up a smaller share of the timetable.
For babies, toddlers and their parents
Parent-and-child classes form a large part of the studio's life. PEKiP runs as a longer programme for babies, with sessions of about 90 minutes in a relaxed setting. The Musikzwerge classes bring together babies from eight to twelve months and their caregivers for songs, rhymes and movement games, while the Mini-Musikanten sessions are designed for children aged one to four.
The studio is led by a team of about ten facilitators, with Doro, Petra, Andrea, Katharina and Irina teaching the most classes.
Praxis Vita: questions and answers
What kinds of classes are offered at praxis vita?
Most classes at praxis vita are postnatal courses, the Rückbildung series, which strengthen the pelvic floor, deep abdominals and back. Some sessions include the baby, others are for mothers alone. Beginner and advanced courses follow one after the other.
Can I bring my baby to a class?
Yes. Several Rückbildung courses run with the baby present, and parent-and-child offerings like PEKiP and the Musikzwerge sessions for babies from eight to twelve months make up a clear part of the schedule. Mini-Musikanten classes are for toddlers and young children.
When do classes at praxis vita usually take place?
Classes run mostly in the morning, with a smaller share in the midday and evening hours. The earliest starts are around 8:30am and the latest is 8pm. Monday, Tuesday and Thursday hold the most sessions, and there are no weekend classes.
How long are the classes?
Most sessions last about an hour. PEKiP sessions run for 90 minutes.
Is praxis vita suitable for beginners?
Yes, several sessions are designed for newcomers. The Rückbildung I basic courses are the entry point for postnatal practice, and the Rückbildung II course builds on them once the basic course is complete.
