New York Insight Meditation Center
New York Insight Meditation Center is a meditation center in Midtown South-Flatiron-Union Square, on West 29th Street. Classes are mostly meditation, with vipassana and mindfulness sits, quiet stretches of silence, and some tai chi and self shiatsu for movement. Many are gentle, open to all levels and welcoming to people new to the practice. Sanghas gather for young adults, BIPOC practitioners and the Asian diaspora, alongside open sits, daylong retreats and a mindful eating evening. Several classes are offered in person and online. Classes mostly run in the evenings, with a good share on weekends.
