Heat in Oslo

Heat is a collection of hot yoga and infrared classes in Oslo, built for those who want deep warmth in the body. The rooms are set up for heat, and the sessions move from slow, held postures to fast flows that leave you sweating. Most of the classes sit in two studios, one in Homansbyen and one in Bispevika, where practice runs from late morning through the early evening.

Two studios, two kinds of heat

Bikram Yoga Oslo AS in Homansbyen runs the largest share of the hot classes, with a sequence that reads as set and repeatable across the week. Its schedule includes the 90-minute Bikram class, a 75-minute hot power flow and a 60-minute hot vinyasa flow. The studio leans toward longer, more demanding sessions for those who want a steady, familiar structure.

SPACE Pilates Barcode in Bispevika is the other center of this collection, offering infrared reformer and Pilates sessions of around 50 minutes. These classes combine the warmth of infrared with the controlled movement of reformer work, so the heat supports a focused, muscular practice rather than a flowing one.

Who leads and when people practice

Most of the classes are taught by a small group of facilitators, including Mats, Maja Pedersen, Ivan, Rebekka Molander, Mattia Aversa and Marianne Norsk. Mats and Ivan teach in English, which makes them a good starting point for newcomers who prefer not to follow a class in Norwegian.

The classes that fall on Saturday, Wednesday and Monday are the busiest, so these are the days when the most people practice together. Weekend classes make up about a third of the collection, which suits anyone who wants a session outside the working week.

Heat: questions and answers

Where do most heat classes in Oslo take place?

Most of the heat classes in this collection are taught in Homansbyen and Bispevika. Bikram Yoga Oslo AS in Homansbyen and SPACE Pilates Barcode in Bispevika have the most classes, and both run across the day.

When do heat classes in Oslo usually start?

Classes start as early as 10am and as late as 6pm, with the busiest start times at noon, 6pm and 5:30pm. Morning classes before 9am are not part of this collection, and midday and evening each hold about a third of the schedule.

What kinds of heat classes are on offer?

Hot yoga, infrared and reformer classes are the heart of this collection, with power yoga, Bikram and vinyasa also appearing. Many sessions combine heat with yoga or Pilates, so the style of the room matters as much as the practice.

Are heat classes in Oslo taught in English?

Yes. Several facilitators teach in English, including Mats and Ivan, so a newcomer can follow the class without knowing Norwegian. Most of the other facilitators here teach in Norwegian.

How long are the classes?

Typical classes last about an hour, though some run longer. Bikram and hot power flow sessions go up to 90 minutes, while the infrared and reformer classes are shorter at around 50 minutes.
