A timetable built around yoga and pilates

Yoga is the backbone of the timetable at studio 3. About half of the classes are yoga, and the styles range from ashtanga and hatha to vinyasa, yin and mysore. Mysore is taught as a longer, self-paced session that needs to be booked in advance by email. Alongside these, the studio offers a fifth of its classes in pilates and a fifth in mobility and stretch work, including assouplissement classes that run 75 minutes.

The pilates offering includes a regular class, a pilates and mobility session, and a workshop called le boomerang that runs two hours. Some sessions are taught in French and Japanese together, so the studio suits people who want a practice in more than one language.

When and where the classes run

Mornings are where studio 3 is most active. About half of the classes take place before noon, and the earliest starts are at 7:30am. Evenings follow, with about a third of classes beginning after 6pm and the latest start at 8:15pm. Weekends also carry about a third of the week, and Monday, Saturday and Sunday are the busiest days.

The studio is in quinze-vingts, a neighborhood in the twelfth arrondissement. Kazumi Fuchigami, Yoshiaki Kuramitsu, Joséphine THOLLET, Joffrey Hubert and Elizabeth Malling are among the facilitators who lead the most classes across the schedule.

Studio 3: questions and answers

What kinds of classes does studio 3 offer?

Yoga is the largest part of the timetable at studio 3, with ashtanga, hatha, vinyasa, yin and mysore all on the schedule. Pilates comes next, alongside mobility and stretch classes. Mysore sessions run longer, up to 150 minutes, and need to be booked directly by email.

Are there classes in Japanese or English?

Yes. Several classes are taught in Japanese or in a mix of Japanese and French, including the Japanese yoga class and the Pilates class taught in both languages. Kazumi Fuchigami and Yoshiaki Kuramitsu are among the facilitators who lead the most classes at the studio.

When do most people practice at studio 3?

Most classes start in the morning, with about half of the timetable before noon. Early starts begin at 7:30am and the latest class starts at 8:15pm. Evenings are also well represented, with about a third of classes falling after 6pm, and the busiest start times are 11am, 7:30am, 7pm and 12:45pm.

How long are the classes, and where should a beginner start?

Most classes run about 75 minutes, though the timetable also includes shorter 60-minute Pilates sessions and longer 90 to 150 minute yoga and Mysore classes. Anyone new to the studio could start with a Pilates or yin class to get a sense of the pace before choosing a longer practice.
