Late night stillness in Philadelphia
In Philadelphia, the late evening is when the restorative practice settles in. After eight, the classes slow down, with long holds, soft stretching and a quiet room. Most of them are yin, and the rest mix in gentle mobility work or a sound bath, so the evening can be spent letting the day go.

What the late night classes are
The late night list is built around restore and yin. Nearly every class here is yin, a passive style that asks you to hold poses for longer and soften into them. Calm and flexibility come up often, and mobility and stretch appear in about a third of the classes. Most sessions are about an hour long.
A few classes add a sound bath to the yin sequence. One example pairs slow movement with vibrational sound, led by Sara Schwartz together with Charlotte Howson. These sessions are rarer, but they suit anyone who wants the evening to end in stillness.
Where and when the classes run
Most of the classes gather in University City and West Kensington. Monarch Yoga University City hosts the most sessions, and Monarch Yoga in Kensington follows with a similar shape of evening classes. The studios and neighborhoods are close enough that a late practice can fit around a commute home.
The classes start between 8pm and 8:30pm, and Monday and Wednesday carry the most of them. Practicing earlier in the day is not part of this list, so the evening is the time to plan around. Booking directly with the studio is the simplest way to reserve a spot.
