Many sessions run in heated rooms, and the timetable mixes hot yoga with vinyasa, strength training, Pilates and barre. What the studio teaches

Yoga is the core of the timetable, and hot yoga is one of its main styles. Vinyasa flow appears in several sessions, and power yoga and a hot 26 format give a more demanding option for those who want to work harder.

Alongside the yoga, the studio runs a steady line of strength-based classes. Tight and tone Pilates, power sculpt Pilates, hot body sculpt and yoga, and strength training fusion sit next to barre fusion and core and pelvic floor work, so the practice can lean toward strength as well as flexibility.

The shape of the week

Most classes take about an hour, and a few run shorter at around 45 minutes or longer at 90 minutes. The earliest starts are at 6am and the latest at 7:45pm, so the day has room at both ends.

Most classes are led in English, and the studio works with a couple of dozen facilitators, which gives the timetable a range of voices and approaches.

VENNU Studio: questions and answers

Is it all hot yoga?

Most classes at VENNU Studio are heated, and hot yoga is one of the main styles. Vinyasa and power yoga are also taught warm in several of the listings, so the room temperature is part of the practice here.

Are there gentle classes for a slower practice?

Yes, a few of the classes are gentle or restorative, including gentle yoga and restore sessions of around 45 minutes. Yoga nidra and a few meditation classes also sit at the calmer end of the timetable.

When do most people practice here?

Most of the classes start in the morning, and many of those begin before 9am, with the busiest start times at 6:30am, 7:30am and 9:30am. Evenings are a smaller share, with the busiest start times around 6:45pm.

Who leads the classes?

A couple of dozen facilitators lead the classes. Diana Garibaldi, Deb Wong, Jenyfer L. and Paige Benjamin teach a good number of the sessions, and Helena R., Lupe J, Jackie Lee, Ayla Trotman, Robin J and Lila S also lead regularly.

What kinds of classes are offered?

Yoga is the largest group at the studio, and strength, Pilates and barre come next. Many classes combine these, such as power body strength training with yoga, or Golden Strength Yogalates, which blends yoga, strength and meditation.
