What the practice feels like

Most classes here are heated, and hot yoga is the main thread of the timetable. Vinyasa and flow classes make up much of what is offered, often with names that signal a sweaty, strength-focused pace. Power yoga and sculpt-style classes appear too, along with a smaller group of yin, restorative and energy-based sessions.

For a slower pace, the restorative and yin classes give a different kind of work. The unheated morning flow is one of the few options practiced without the heat.

How the week runs

Morning is the heart of the week at Anahata. About half the classes fall before noon, and a fifth start before 9am, beginning as early as 6:15am. Evenings have a steady presence, with classes through 7pm. Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday are the busiest days, and weekends carry a smaller share of the schedule.

The studio has about ten facilitators, and a small group teaches most of the classes. Liza Jaros, Victoria Grace and Carly Lafont are among those who lead the most sessions.
