What the studio offers
Yoga is the practice here, making up more than half of the classes. Bikram leads the styles, taking about a third of the timetable, and hot yoga follows at about a fifth. Sweat-focused classes share that heat-led energy, while yin, Restore and mobility work offer a slower pace.
Pilates is smaller but present, about one in ten classes, and HIIT HOT Pilates pairs it with heat and intensity over 90 minutes.
How the week runs
The studio runs classes from 7am through the evening, with a clear peak in the evening. Mornings are well served too, with a fifth of the classes falling before the day gets busy, and weekends carry about a fifth of the timetable.
The classes are led by a couple of dozen facilitators across a handful of studios in the Stockholm area, and the timetable is built around most people practicing after work.
DuCalme Yoga: questions and answers
Is DuCalme Yoga mainly hot yoga?
Yes. Bikram is one of the styles that leads here, with about a third of the classes, and it is taught in a heated room. Hot yoga makes up about a fifth of the timetable, so the heat is a clear part of this studio's character.
Can I practice Pilates here as well as yoga?
Yes, there is a Pilates side to the timetable. About one in ten classes is Pilates, and HIIT HOT Pilates runs for 90 minutes. Most of the rest is yoga in its various forms.
When do most people practice at DuCalme Yoga?
Classes start as early as 7am and most of them finish by the evening. Most people practice in the evening, with about a third of classes falling then, and the busiest start times are 4pm, 6pm, 7am and 7:30pm. Mondays, Tuesdays and Thursdays are the busiest days.
Are there slower classes for someone new to this?
Plenty of the timetable is gentler. RECOVER med yinyoga, RECOVERY- Fascia Flossing and the Mobility and stretch classes are slower and suit a quieter pace. The FLOW classes, like Sunday FLOW and Friday FLOW, move more and are a good middle step.
How long are the classes?
Most classes run 75 minutes. A few are shorter at 60 minutes, like Bikram FLOW, Empower Yoga and RECOVERY- Fascia Flossing, and some run longer at 90 minutes, like HIIT HOT Pilates and Extraklass.
Who leads the classes?
Classes are taught by a couple of dozen facilitators. Sofia L, Åsa E, Kim, Eline, Kerli, Ingela, Catalina, Sarah, Saskia and Johanna lead the most classes, so you will often find the same faces across the week.
