What the classes cover

Most of the classes at yogahebamme are yoga, with a clear focus on the body through pregnancy and the postnatal months. Courses in core and pelvic floor work appear across the timetable, and a strand for parents with babies runs alongside the prenatal and postnatal courses. Many sessions are offered as short courses of five to eight weeks, so you can commit to a block rather than drop in.

The timetable leans toward mornings, with starts from 9:30am and many classes in the late morning. Evening sessions start as late as 6:30pm, and the prenatal courses are offered at several times of the week. Classes run on weekdays, and there is nothing on weekends.

Who leads and how to start

Connie leads a large part of the timetable and teaches most of the prenatal courses. The studio is run by a small group, and the course titles name the format clearly, so you can see at a glance whether a class is for pregnancy, the postnatal period or parents with babies. Classes are typically 60 minutes, while the prenatal courses run 90 minutes.

You can find the studio at Schulgasse 68/1-2 in Währing, and more details on courses and booking are on yogahebamme.com.

Yogahebamme: questions and answers

When do most people practice at yogahebamme?

Most classes at yogahebamme run in the morning, with the earliest starts at 9:30am. Evening classes start as late as 6:30pm, and a smaller share of the timetable falls in the evening. There are no classes at midday or on weekends, so mornings and weekday evenings are the times to plan around.

Can I bring my baby to a class?

Yes. The studio offers yoga for parents and babies, including classes you attend with your baby and some baby yoga. The parent and child classes sit alongside the postnatal and prenatal courses, so the timetable is shaped around the early months of parenthood.

Are there classes for pregnancy?

Yes. The studio runs prenatal courses that prepare for birth through yoga, including sessions that start with a short talk on a single topic, such as preparing for birth and the pelvic floor. They are led by a diploma midwife who is also a certified yoga teacher.

When can I start a postnatal course after birth?

The studio offers postnatal courses that begin about six to eight weeks after a vaginal birth, or about eight to ten weeks after a caesarean. Each session covers a different topic relevant to women's bodies, and babies are welcome. Classes usually run for six sessions of 60 minutes.
