What the studio offers

Most of the classes at Emerald Elephant Yoga are yoga, and the studio builds its week around a clear range of styles. Gentle yoga is the most common, with flow, focus, flexibility, yin and strong classes added in smaller numbers. Chair yoga, functional Pilates, a mobility and stretch class and a core and pelvic floor class give the timetable more variety.

A few classes are shaped around a particular need. Yin yoga for healing and release is a longer, slower session, and the studio also runs a Happy Hour Yoga class in the evening.

How the week runs

The classes are spread across the day, with more than half in the morning and about a fifth at midday and in the evening. Start times are most often at 8am, 10:30am, 1:30pm and 6:30pm, which are the busiest times on the timetable. Tuesday, Thursday and Friday see the most classes.

Most classes last 60 minutes, so most people can plan a practice around a set time in their day. Facilitators such as Katrina Friesen, Choyette Rico, Kaleigh Le, Andrea Thompson and Natalie Hill lead the most classes, and the studio has about ten facilitators in total.
