Pilates and the reformer

Pilates is the core of what Tree House offers. Nearly all of the listed classes are Pilates, and more than half use the reformer, a sliding carriage machine that adds springs and resistance to the movement.

Classes are arranged by level. Some are marked for first-time students, about half of the schedule is open to those with no prior experience, and others are set for those who already know the work. Within the reformer classes, beginner and intermediate options sit side by side.

How the week runs

The studio's week is weighted toward the morning. Most classes start between 8am and 10am, with 9am and 10am the most common times. A few classes start before 9am, a few run on weekends, and a small number begin in the late afternoon, the latest at 4:30pm.

Classes run about an hour. Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday carry the most sessions, so those are the days with the widest choice.

Tree House Pilates: questions and answers

What kind of classes does Tree House Pilates offer?

Most of the classes here are Pilates, and many use the reformer. Classes run about an hour, and the schedule leans toward mornings, with starts from 8am through 10am and a few later in the afternoon.

Is Tree House Pilates good for beginners?

Yes. Several classes are marked for first-timers, and there are beginner and intermediate reformer options. Classes are also listed for more experienced practitioners, so a newcomer can find a starting point that fits.

When do most people practice here?

Most classes start in the morning, with the earliest from 8am and the busiest start times at 9am and 10am. A few classes run on weekends, and a few start before 9am. Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday are the busiest days.

Who leads the classes?

Diane Hennigan leads more classes than anyone else here. Several facilitators share the schedule, so reformer and release-focused classes are taught by a small group of people.

How long are the classes?

Classes are typically about an hour long. The Beginner/Intermediate Reformer class, Intermediate Reformer and Melt the Stress Away all run for an hour.

What should I expect from a class?

Among the listed classes, the feeling of release is one of the more common themes, with Melt the Stress Away as an example. Pilates is the main focus, so the studio suits someone who wants steady, controlled movement built around the reformer.
