What the studio teaches

The studio is built around Pilates. Many classes use the Reformer, a sliding carriage with springs, and the sessions are designed to build core strength, balance and control. Titles such as REFORM: Essentials, REFORM: Signature and REFORM: Strong suggest a path from a full-body introduction to more demanding work, and Glutes & Core focuses on the lower body and the centre of the body.

Beside the Reformer work there is a line of strength formats, including BODYPUMP, a full-body session with moderate weights and many repetitions, and MUSCLE LAB, a thirty-minute strength class. Yoga appears in sessions such as REDLIGHT X YOGA, which pairs flowing sequences with the warm red light of the room.

The shape of the week

Classes are spread across the day, with about half of them in the evening. The busiest start times are 5:15pm, 7pm, noon and 10am, and a few sessions begin before 9am, from 7:45am. Weekends make up about a fifth of the schedule. Most of the classes last around fifty minutes.

The facilitators here form a large group. Maria Paz Garcia, Irem Kaner, Shaouki, Friedrich Bührer and Dany Beyer lead some of the most classes, followed by others on the team. Several sessions are taught in English, which is worth knowing if you prefer to follow instructions in that language.
