What the classes are
Hot yoga leads this collection, and Bikram is the style that appears most often after it. Bikram follows a set sequence in a heated room, so the order of postures stays the same from one class to the next. Hot vinyasa adds more flow, and you will find it at ONA Studio in Cinq Cantons, where classes run 55 minutes.
Because the sequence stays familiar, Bikram can suit people who like to know what comes next. Vinyasa offers more variation, though it is a smaller part of the schedule here.
Where and when to practice
Yoga Bikram in Seignosse and ONA Studio in Cinq Cantons hold the most classes in this collection. Seignosse and Cinq Cantons are where most of the sessions gather, so those are the two areas to check first. Most classes run about 90 minutes, and the busiest start times fall at 6:30pm, 7pm, 9:30am and 10am.
Evening is the most common time to practice, and many people choose a session after work. Mornings are also popular, with the first class starting at 9:30am. Weekend classes are about a fifth of the schedule, with Tuesday, Thursday and Friday the busiest days.
Heat: questions and answers
What kinds of classes are in the Heat collection?
Most classes here are hot yoga, and nearly all of them are yoga of some kind. About half are Bikram, which follows a set sequence in a heated room, and the rest are more varied. Vinyasa appears in only a small share of the schedule, so people looking for flowing movement will find fewer options than in the hot classes.
When do most people practice?
The earliest class starts at 9:30am, and nothing begins before that. Mornings make up about a third of the classes, and evenings make up about half. Weekend classes are about a fifth of the total, and midday classes are about one in ten.
Which studios and neighborhoods should I look at first?
Yoga Bikram in Seignosse and ONA Studio in Cinq Cantons have the most classes in this collection. Both are good places to start looking at the schedule. Gabrielle Turnes and Emma Jean lead the most classes among the facilitators.
How long are the classes, and what fits around a workday?
Most classes run about 90 minutes, so set aside time for the warm-up and the rest that follows. ONA Studio also offers shorter 55-minute hot vinyasa classes. Many people fit a session in before or after work, with the latest start at 7:30pm.
Can I use a pass to attend?
Wellpass and ClassPass are both accepted, though only about one in ten classes can be taken on either. Check the studio's own page for details before you book, since availability varies.
What should a first hot class feel like?
Hot classes ask a lot of the body, so it helps to drink water before and after, arrive a few minutes early to settle in, and take it slowly on your first visit. Bikram follows the same sequence every time, which can make it easier to know what comes next as a newcomer.
