What the mornings are built around
The mornings are built around pilates. Reformer classes make up most of what is on, and the practice ranges from Reformer Flow, which introduces the equipment and the vocabulary of pilates, to Reformer Flow 2, which moves at a moderate pace and asks more of balance and coordination.
Around the reformer you will find Mat Pilates, Barre/Pilates and a few classes that focus on balance, mobility and stretch. Athletic Reformer at The Body Lab is the faster, more demanding option, built around total body work and a higher heart rate.
Where and when to practice
Peace of Mind Pilates in Essex and The Body Lab in Twin Orchards offer most of the weekend mornings, and both keep a steady rhythm across the morning. Adi Yoga Studio adds vinyasa flow on the yoga side.
Classes mostly start between 9am and 10:15am, with the earliest starts from 8am. If you prefer to practice before the busiest hour, look for the early starts. Most classes are about 50 minutes, so a morning practice fits easily before the rest of the weekend begins.
