In Yoga Daily’s words
There's a lot happening in the ball and socket joint of the hips. Your hips, dense and built for stability, also aid in providing balanced weight distribution. Your hips are technically the junction where your leg (femur bone) inserts into the socket (acetabulum) of your pelvis. There are 7 different ranges of freedom possible in the hip joints, however, most of us don't utilize this freedom equally and as a result, become stiffer and begin to lose ROM. In this class, we will explore these different ranges of movement, stretch and stress muscles and tissues of this area, while increasing circulation and restoring mobility.Hip opening postures can help release tension in the hips and lower back. Improving mobility and ROM in the hips can up your physical performance and enhance your daily functioning and well being.** Mild+ **
