About BELI YOGA

BELI YOGA is a studio in Remscheid, in the Bergisches Land near Düsseldorf. Its heart is yoga, but reformer Pilates is what most of the week revolves around. The classes are small, personal and structured by level, so a first visit can start with the basics and grow from there. The atmosphere is focused and warm, with dozens of classes across a handful of studios.

It suits you if

  • you want reformer Pilates in small groups

What the studio offers

Reformer Pilates is the main practice here. The reformer is a machine with a sliding carriage, springs and straps, and the classes use it to build strength, control and mobility, with a clear focus on the core and pelvic floor. Nearly all classes fall into this practice, and about half are aimed at experienced practitioners. The studio describes its reformer offering as a boutique space with small groups, personal guidance and a focus on training quality that suits every level.

Yoga has been the core of the studio for many years, moving between dynamic, strong sessions and quieter, balancing ones. Around a third of the classes focus on joints and mobility, and about a third are labeled strong. Fitness and Pilates classes sit beside the reformer work, so the timetable has room for both kinds of movement.

How the week runs

Most of the week falls in the evening, and the classes cluster around 6:15pm, 6:45pm, 7:30pm and 8pm. The first classes begin at 7:50am and the last at 8pm, while about a fifth of the classes are in the morning and a few at midday. Weekends carry about a third of the classes. Sunday, Monday and Tuesday are the busiest days, and the studio also runs a gentle yoga class for seniors on a Tuesday afternoon.

A class usually lasts about 55 minutes. The studio is led by about ten facilitators, with Ramona, Maja, Jennifer, Desiree, Laura, Hanna, Jessica F. and Daniela teaching the most classes. There is no pass system listed, so each class is booked on its own.

BELI YOGA: questions and answers

Is this studio mainly for Pilates?

Yes. Most of the classes at this studio are reformer Pilates, a style built on a spring-loaded carriage that moves against resistance. The schedule also includes yoga, fitness and Pilates on the mat, so anyone who wants a different kind of practice can find it here.

What levels of reformer classes are there?

The reformer classes are split into three levels. Reformer Basic is the entry point for people new to the machine, and it teaches the main setup and movement sequences. Reformer Intermediate and Reformer Advanced build on that, with more complex exercises and faster transitions. A class called Reformer Total Body is open to all levels, and its options let you adjust the intensity to your own practice.

When do most people practice here?

Most classes are in the evening, and the busiest start times are around 6:15pm, 6:45pm, 7:30pm and 8pm. Sunday, Monday and Tuesday are the days when most classes run. Mornings are quieter, and the earliest starts are around 7:50am.

Is it suitable for complete beginners?

Yes. Several classes are marked for first-time practitioners, and the reformer Basic class is built for people who have never used a reformer. Each class has a set length of about 55 minutes, so it is easy to plan around a workday.

Where are the studios?

The studio runs several locations in Remscheid, including Hindenburgstraße, Bismarckstraße, Lennep and Reinshagen. The address listed here is Bismarckstraße 19, and the website gives the full picture of the spaces and the wider community across the city.
