What the studio practices
The reformer shapes most of what happens here, and more than half of the classes use it. Many sessions are described around specific aims: core and pelvic floor work, balance, flexibility and strength. Some classes blend the reformer with a tower, barrel, magic chair and a PEMF detox mat for a more varied hour.
The studio also runs a set of classes that use electrical muscle stimulation alongside movement. These are listed separately from the standard reformer work, and an introduction is offered before the first session so you know how the equipment works.
How the week runs
Classes begin as early as 7:30am and continue through the day until 7:30pm. Most sessions fall in the morning or the evening, with a smaller group at midday and only a few on weekends. Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday carry the most classes, and the busiest start times are 3pm, 3:30pm, 7pm and 7:30pm.
The studio also offers a set of family and youth classes, including sessions for kids, teens and parents with children. These are part of the regular timetable rather than separate events, so they fit into the same week.
GM pilateshape: questions and answers
What kind of classes does GM pilateshape offer?
Most of the classes here are Pilates, and more than half are on the reformer. The studio also offers a few mobility and stretch sessions, along with classes that combine the reformer with other equipment.
Is GM pilateshape good for a first Pilates class?
About a third of the classes are marked for first-timers, so a first visit has plenty of options. Phoebiya Cheng and Virginia But lead the most classes, which makes them a good place to start if you want to get to know the studio's teaching.
When do most people practice here?
Classes start as early as 7:30am and run until 7:30pm. Most of them fall in the morning or the evening, with a smaller share at midday and on weekends. Wednesday, Friday and Tuesday are the busiest days.
How long are the classes?
Most classes are 30 or 50 minutes long, so a session fits easily into a lunch break or after work. The studio is in Central at Queen's Road Central, and a 30-minute reformer class is one of the shorter options on the timetable.
Are there classes for children or families?
Yes. The studio offers classes for kids, teens, and parent and child pairs, as well as family sessions designed for all ages to take part together. These are a smaller part of the schedule, but they are regular and easy to find.
What is EMS and is there an introduction?
Some sessions use electrical muscle stimulation (EMS) alongside Pilates, and the studio offers a short introduction to the equipment before those classes. The introduction covers how the technology is used and what to expect, so you can ask questions before you begin.
