What the classes look like

The timetable is built around Pilates. About half of the classes are Pilates, and about half focus on the core and pelvic floor. Reformer is the most common style, with mat Pilates, Jump Board Reformer and gentle reformer also on the timetable. Strong sessions make up about a third of the classes, while gentle classes are fewer.

Beyond Pilates, there is tai chi, Stretch and Flow, Line Dancing, TRX Combo, TRX Flow, Full Body Blast, Spin and H.I.I.T. Stretch and Flow runs for about an hour, while most other classes run about 50 minutes, so the length is consistent across the week.

How the day and the week run

Most classes start early. The earliest start is at 6am, and the busiest start times are 7am, 8am, 9am and 10am. Many classes take place before 9am, while midday and evening sessions are fewer. Weekend classes are few.

The busiest days are Monday, Tuesday and Thursday. The club is run by about ten facilitators, and the same faces appear across the week, so you can get to know the teachers.

Montreux Golf and Country Club: questions and answers

When do most people practice here?

Most classes at montreux golf and country club begin early in the morning, with the earliest starts at 6am and the busiest start times at 7am, 8am, 9am and 10am. Many sessions run before 9am, so a morning practice fits well before the working day.

What kinds of classes are offered?

Pilates leads the timetable, with about half of the classes built around it. Reformer work is the most common style, and the classes often focus on the core and the pelvic floor. Stretch and flow, tai chi, and strength-based sessions such as TRX and high intensity interval training also appear.

Is it a good place to start with Pilates?

Reformer Pilates and mat Pilates are the main entry points, and gentle reformer classes are offered for a slower pace. Most classes run about 50 minutes, so a first session is easy to fit in. The facilitators can guide you to the level that suits you.

Who leads the classes?

Stephanie Grob, Jen Heinrichs, Christine Bresler, Jessica Roberts, Marisa Buckley, Garrett Manibog, Pam Haynes and Michon Wright lead the most classes. Between them they cover Pilates, strength, flow and tai chi, so the choice of facilitator depends on the style you want.

How does the week look?

Classes at montreux golf and country club run mostly on weekdays, with Monday, Tuesday and Thursday the busiest days. Weekend sessions are few, and the evening sessions are also limited, so the week is shaped around early practice.
