Pilates at the core of the timetable

The studio is built around Pilates. Reformer classes are the most common, with Saige Reform Foundations for first-timers and Saige Reform Intermediate for those with a solid base. Mat classes cover the same ground without equipment, from the slow, precise Saige Mat Classical to the controlled, low-impact Saige Mat Strength, which focuses on long holds and slow burns.

Alongside Pilates there is a smaller group of yoga and movement classes. Saige Vinyasa Yoga moves with the breath in a fluid, uplifting flow, while Saige Mat Stretch is slow and restorative, built for releasing tension and resetting.

How the week runs

Most classes take place in the morning, with a steady run of evening sessions and a smaller number at midday. The busiest start times are 8am and 9:30am in the morning and 7pm and 8pm in the evening. Weekend classes make up about a fifth of the timetable.

The typical class lasts 50 minutes, with some shorter sessions of 45 minutes. There are no passes, so each class is booked on its own.

Saige Pilates Studio - Sidcup: questions and answers

Is this studio good for complete beginners?

Yes. Saige Reform Foundations is built as an introduction to the reformer, for beginners or anyone who wants to refine their form. It is 50 minutes, and the pace is set by you. Most people start with that class before moving to Reform Intermediate.

When do most people practice here?

Most classes start in the morning, and more than half of the week's classes run before noon. The earliest start is 7am and the latest is 8pm. The busiest start times are 8am, 9:30am, 7pm and 8pm, and the busiest days are Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday.

What kinds of classes are on offer?

Almost all of the classes are Pilates. Reformer is the style that appears most often, followed by mat Pilates. Strength, mobility and stretch, and yoga also run here, including Saige Vinyasa Yoga and Saige Pregnancy Yoga.

Are there classes for pregnancy and after having a baby?

Yes. Two classes are designed for life stages: Saige Pregnancy Yoga supports you through each stage of pregnancy, and Saige Strength & Restore | Mum & Baby Class is a postnatal mat class where your baby can be there with you.

Who leads the classes?

Classes at this studio are led by about ten facilitators. Sydney Weatherley, Kiera Devese, Sophie Black and Festina Gashi lead the most classes, followed by Becky Holmes, Olivia Parascandolo and others on the team.

How long are the classes, and can I buy a pass?

The typical class lasts 50 minutes, and most classes run between 45 and 60 minutes. Passes are not part of the offer here, so you book classes individually.
