How the week runs
The schedule is built around mornings. More than half of the classes start before noon, and about a third begin before 9am. Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday are the busiest days, with the most common start times at 7am, 8am and 9am. Evening classes make up about a fifth of the timetable, with a 5pm start among the most common times.
Weekend classes are also part of the week, about a fifth of the total, so the studio fits a range of routines.
What the classes are
Pilates and reformer work make up nearly all of the studio's classes. Alongside these, the studio offers mobility and stretch sessions, along with classes for release. A few classes are designed for specific life stages, including prenatal sessions and parent and child classes. Classes are about 50 minutes long, and sessions are taught in English.
The studio runs its classes with about ten facilitators, and a handful of them lead most of the sessions. Each class is labelled by its focus, from strength to recovery, so you can choose the one that matches your day.
WA Health Group: questions and answers
What kind of classes does WA Health Group offer?
Most of the classes here are pilates, and nearly all of them are on the reformer. The rest lean toward mobility and stretch, with a few classes for parents with children, for people during pregnancy, and for release.
When do most people practice here?
Classes start as early as 6am and run through to 7pm. Most of the schedule sits in the morning, with a steady share on weekday evenings and at weekends. The busiest start times are 7am, 8am, 9am and 5pm.
Are there classes for people who are pregnant?
Yes. The studio includes a pregnancy and bub friendly peak reformer class, along with a few other classes for prenatal practice and for parents practicing with a child. Reformer classes are built on the same movement, so a facilitator can guide you toward the version that suits where you are.
Who leads the classes?
Kelcey Frey, Sienna Curtis, Daniela Barbosa, Shelly Tanna, Adele Pittorini, Meg Grayden, Tayla Kelly and Roxy Barker lead the most classes. The studio has about ten facilitators in total.
Where should a newcomer start?
Peak Reformer Foundations is a good place to begin on the reformer. Classes run for about 50 minutes, so you can plan a session before or after work. Peak Stretch and Release suits a slower pace if you want to focus on mobility.
