About Sukha Yoga

sukha yoga is a studio at 1020 Railroad Avenue D in Novato, and it is part of how yoga gets practiced across Marin. Most of its classes are yoga in some form, with flow-based classes leading the week. Dozens of classes run over the next four weeks, taught by a couple of dozen facilitators.

It suits you if

  • you want flow-based yoga most days
  • you prefer practicing in the morning or early evening
  • you are new and want a beginner friendly start

How the week runs

The schedule leans toward flow. Vinyasa, hatha, slow flow and gentle flow appear across the week, and classes most often run 75 minutes. Morning starts are common, with about half of classes beginning before noon and about one in ten before 9am. Evenings also fill up, and the busiest start times are 9:30am, noon, 5:30pm and 7pm.

Alongside the flow classes there are restorative sessions, yoga nidra and a few classes built around release and rest. These tend to be longer, often 90 minutes, and suit a slower evening.

Where to begin

Foundations of Yoga is marked for first-time students, and the schedule also includes Gentle Flow and Restore. Deep Yoga Therapeutics and Dharma and Meditation are two more ways into the practice, the first with a longer focus and the second more reflective.

The studio runs without drop-in passes, so each class is booked directly with the studio. Facilitators include Laura Nash, Rachel Ross, Linda Prosché and Kristen Dowd Addicks, among others who lead the most classes here.
