What the classes are

Pilates is nearly all of what Regent Pilates teaches, and the studio's classes are arranged in clear levels. Foundations classes cover the basics, both on the reformer and in the studio or on the mat, and suit people attending for the first time. Intermediate and Progressive classes follow for those with some experience, and the Progressive Studio class held in Joe's Gym leans on what you have learnt during the week.

About half of the classes use the reformer, and a smaller share are mat Pilates, including Foundations - Pure Mat, which explores the classical method on the mat.

When to practice

Most classes start early or in the evening. About half fall before 9am, and about half in the evening, with few or no classes at midday. Busy start times include 7am, 5:30pm, 6:30pm and 9:30am. Mondays, Wednesdays and Saturdays are the days when the most classes run.

Classes run for around 50 minutes, so they fit neatly around a morning routine or the end of a working day.
