About Return Pilates

Return Pilates sits on Wattletree Road in Malvern East, and its timetable is built around the reformer. Most classes use the reformer, with springs and a carriage that let you work through controlled, slow movement. Mornings are a strong part of the week here, with classes beginning as early as 6am.

It suits you if

  • you want reformer Pilates before work
  • you are new to Pilates or returning after a break
  • you want strength work on the reformer with heavier springs

Reformer classes for every level

Reformer Pilates is the studio's core. Most of the classes use the reformer, and the range of levels runs from Foundation, the starting class for anyone new to Pilates or returning after a break, through to Progression for those with experience who want more complex movement. Enhance is a slower, supportive class for beginners and people 55 and over, while Stretch goes deeper into flexibility and mobility for those already attending regular classes.

Alongside the standard reformer work, Strong brings strength and conditioning principles to the reformer using heavier springs. Jump combines cardio and Pilates, with the jumpboard in place of the foot bar, and the jumping is optional, so the class suits people at different levels of energy.

When classes run

Classes begin at 6am and finish as late as 7pm. More than half of the timetable falls in the morning, and about a third of classes start before 9am. Weekend sessions make up about a fifth of the schedule. Most classes last 50 minutes.

If you are planning a regular practice, Wednesday, Thursday and Monday are the busiest days, and 7am and 8am are the most common start times.
