What the heat feels like
Nearly every class in this collection is yoga, and nearly all of them are hot yoga. Infrared heaters are used in some sessions, so the warmth comes evenly and deeply into the body. Most of the classes are described as full body practices that leave people sweating, while still settling the mind and giving a sense of calm afterwards.
A few classes take a slower path. The vinyasa slow flow at Coolum Beach Yoga is heated but gentle in pace, with the fundamentals broken down so the movement can be learned clearly.
Where and when to practice
Coolum Beach Yoga and Aloha Active host most of the classes, in the Coolum Beach and Noosa Heads neighborhoods. About ten facilitators lead the sessions, with Rene Goetjes, Dan Doherty, Cara Szabo and Wayne Lingard among those teaching most often.
The day usually starts early. About half the classes begin before 9am, and the first starts are at 5:45am. Later sessions run through the afternoon and evening, with the latest at 5:45pm. Mondays, Tuesdays and Wednesdays carry the most classes.
