What the studio teaches
Pilates is the main practice here, and reformer is the style that appears most often across the schedule. Mat Pilates is offered too, along with barre and a smaller set of yoga classes. Yin yoga and slow flow sit alongside the more active options, giving a calmer choice for a slower session.
TRX training runs at several levels, from beginner through to advanced, and uses suspension straps for strength and body control. The studio's classes are all about an hour long, which keeps the pace of the week steady.
How the week runs
Morning practice is the studio's strongest pattern. About half of the classes take place before noon, and a good number start as early as 6:15am. The busiest start times fall around 8:15am and 9:30am, with a second rush in the late afternoon and early evening around 5pm and 6pm.
Monday, Tuesday and Thursday hold the most classes. Weekend sessions are few. Late evening classes run as late as 8pm, which fits well for people who want to practice after work.
The Pilates Soul Studio: questions and answers
What kinds of classes does The Pilates Soul Studio offer?
Most of the classes here are Pilates, with reformer as the most common style. There are also yoga classes, a few barre classes, and some TRX training.
Is it good for beginners?
The studio's classes are open to all levels, and more than half are listed that way. Some are marked for experienced practitioners, and the intermediate and advanced TRX classes are set for people with some background.
When do most people practice here?
Classes start as early as 6:15am and run as late as 8pm. Mornings carry about half of the timetable, and about a third of classes begin before 9am. Evenings make up about a third of the week, and weekend classes are rare.
How long are the classes?
Most classes run for an hour. Yin yoga, slow flow and the reformer and TRX classes all follow that length.
Which class should I try first?
The studio's classes are mostly Pilates and yoga, so the type you pick depends on what you want from a session. Reformer classes use equipment, mat classes are done on the floor, TRX uses suspension straps, and yin and slow flow are gentler, slower choices.
Where is the studio, and who leads the classes?
Yes. The Pilates Soul Studio sits on Haddonfield Road in Cherry Hill Township, a short distance outside Philadelphia. Its classes are taught by a small group of about ten facilitators, including Angela Suter, John Fanelle Jr and Melissa V, who lead the most classes.
