About Yoga in the Circle

Yoga in the Circle sits in Newtown Square, a short drive from the center of Philadelphia, and its timetable is built around yoga. Most of the week is morning practice, with a steady run of classes through the day and into the early evening. Gentle, vinyasa and hot yoga sit side by side here, so a practice can be slow and quiet or strong and sweaty depending on the day.

It suits you if

  • you like practicing early in the day
  • you want to build strength alongside yoga
  • you want gentle classes or a warm, sweaty practice

What the classes are

Most of the timetable is yoga, and the classes range from gentle and yin to strong vinyasa and power yoga. Gentle and All Levels Vinyasa sit alongside HOT Power and HOT All Levels Vinyasa, so there is room for a slow practice and for a more demanding one. Strength, Mat Pilates, Yoga Strength and core and pelvic floor classes add a second thread for anyone who wants to work muscles directly.

Ayurveda & Yoga and Vin/Yin Yoga show that the studio also draws on traditions beyond the mat. These classes are worth a look once a few basic styles feel familiar.

How the week runs

Morning practice is the backbone of the schedule, with about half of all classes starting before noon. Classes at 9:30am and 10:45am are among the most common, and a smaller group of classes start at 8am. The evening runs up to 6pm, and weekends carry about a fifth of the week.

Monday, Tuesday and Friday are the busiest days, so these are the days when the most classes and the most people are on the schedule. Classes run about an hour, which fits well into a lunch break or a morning before work.
