Late night stillness in Rome

Late night stillness in Rome is a small set of slow, restoring classes that begin after eight in the evening. Almost all of them are yin or restore practice, held in long poses that ease the body toward rest. The collection is built for the end of a day, and it gathers in two studios, Aura Sacred Space in Borgo and Zem Yoga Studio Roma in Parione.

What an evening class is like

The classes in this collection run from about 8pm to 8:15pm and typically last 75 minutes. Nearly all of them are yin and restore, with an emphasis on calm, release and sleep. The practice is passive and quiet, so the evening feels like winding down rather than working out.

Aura Sacred Space offers a class built around breath, with six to twelve asanas and a reset at the end. Zem Yoga Studio Roma pairs yin with myofascial release, using long, passive poses to work into the fascia and connective tissue.

Where and when to practice

Borgo is home to Aura Sacred Space, and Parione is home to Zem Yoga Studio Roma. Both neighborhoods are close to the center of Rome, which makes them easy to reach after a day in the city.

The classes cluster on a few weeknights, with Friday, Monday and Wednesday carrying the most sessions. Many people book a class in the evening and walk straight home afterward.

Late night stillness: questions and answers

When do these late classes start?

Most of the classes in this collection start in the evening, between 8pm and 8:15pm, and run about 75 minutes. Aura Sacred Space in Borgo and Zem Yoga Studio Roma in Parione both offer several of them across the week.

What kind of practice is this?

Nearly every class here is a yin or restore practice, so the pace is slow and the poses are held for a long time. The recurring aim is to soften, recover and turn inward before sleep.

Are these classes suitable for beginners?

Yes. A small number of classes are open to all levels, and a few are built around mobility and stretch or joint care. Yin and restore work is generally gentle, so it is a practical place to start in the evening.

Which studios and neighborhoods are these classes in?

Aura Sacred Space in Borgo and Zem Yoga Studio Roma in Parione have the most classes in this collection. Both sit in the centre of Rome, and the rest of the evening classes are spread across a handful of studios.

Who leads these classes?

Linda Zoroddu and Megan Brittany lead the most classes in this collection. Yin and restore classes are the common thread across the facilitators, so the sessions feel consistent from one teacher to the next.

Which days have the most classes?

Friday, Monday and Wednesday are the days with the most classes in this collection. Because the evening starts are so close together, you can often find a class on several weeknights without changing studios.
