A studio built around movement

VerticalArts is set on Olgastraße 48 in the Rathaus district of Stuttgart. The studio offers dozens of classes across a handful of formats, led by about ten facilitators. Lera, Lena, Caro, Abril, Larissa, Franzi, Michaela and Olena lead the most classes.

The classes fall mainly into mobility and stretch work, with a steady share of joy and flexibility. Alongside these, the studio teaches Classique courses in heels, ContemPole and Floor Lab sessions, and a choreographic hoop class that works with flowing transitions.

When the classes run

Most classes take place in the evening, with more than half of the timetable falling after 5pm. Mornings and midday hold a smaller share, and weekend classes make up about a fifth of the week. Wednesday, Friday and Saturday are the busiest days.

Classes are typically 60 minutes, with a few longer sessions for the Classique L2 course and the choreographic hoop. Many of the classes are open to all levels, and the stretching sessions change focus each week, so the flow of a class stays fresh.

VerticalArts: questions and answers

When do most people practice at VerticalArts?

Most classes at VerticalArts run in the evening, and the busiest start times are 6pm, 7:15pm and 5pm. Wednesday, Friday and Saturday are the busiest days, and a fifth of the classes fall on weekends. Classes start as early as 8am and as late as 8:30pm.

Is VerticalArts good for beginners?

Yes. Several classes are open to all levels or to a first class ever, including the stretching courses that change focus each week. Classique L1 introduces basic movement in heels, and the stretching beginner class works on mobility and range of motion in a gentle way.

What kinds of classes does VerticalArts offer?

Most of the classes at VerticalArts are mobility and stretch practice, with a focus on flexibility. Alongside these you will find dance in heels through the Classique courses, pole work in ContemPole, floor work in the Floor Lab, and choreographic hoop. Strength appears in only a few classes.

How long are the classes and how do the levels build?

The typical class at VerticalArts runs 60 minutes, and a few run longer, such as the 75 minute choreographic hoop course and the 90 minute Classique L2. Classique L2 builds on Classique L1, and Heels Tricks is for students from L4 onward.
