Deep rest in Valencia

In Valencia, deep rest mostly means yoga nidra and restorative practice, with a steady run of yin and gentle classes beside them. Most sessions last about an hour, and they gather in the afternoon and evening rather than the early morning. The collection leans toward slow, supported stillness, so it suits a reset at the end of a busy day.

Where to start: The Yoga Room in Benimaclet, The Sanctuary | Holistic Fitness Studio in La Gran Via or THE YOGA BOX in Sant Francesc

It suits you if

  • you want to rest after a long working day

  • an evening class fits better than an early start

What deep rest looks like in Valencia

Yoga nidra is the thread that runs through most of these classes, often alongside restorative or yin work. The sessions are slow and quiet, built on long holds, props and a guided rest that asks very little of the body. Some classes add a gentle flow before the nidra, so the body warms up without losing the calm.

Restorative and gentle classes sit close to this. They focus on stillness, deep breathing and letting the body settle into poses held for a long time. A smaller group leans toward sound, with at least one class pairing yoga nidra with a live DJ set.

Where and when to practice

The Sanctuary | Holistic Fitness Studio in La Gran Via, The Yoga Room in Benimaclet, THE YOGA BOX in Sant Francesc and Yogabrú in El Cabanyal-El Canyamelar host most of the classes. The Sanctuary offers a slow flow with yoga nidra, The Yoga Room runs a women-only restorative yin session, and Yogabrú holds a nidra class that runs 75 minutes.

Most classes take place in the afternoon and evening, with starts as early as 3:30pm and as late as 7:30pm. Weekends carry a smaller share, and the busiest days are Wednesday, Friday and Sunday.

Deep rest: questions and answers

What kind of classes are in this collection?

Most of them are yoga nidra or restorative classes, and a good number are yin or gentle sessions built around long, supported stillness. Classes are usually about an hour, and a few run longer, up to 90 minutes or more.

Is there a class that starts with movement?

Yes. Some sessions here are set up as slow flow with a yoga nidra close, so the first part keeps you moving gently before the rest. The Sanctuary | Holistic Fitness Studio in La Gran Via offers one of these.

When do most people practice deep rest here?

Many of the classes start in the afternoon and evening. The earliest begins at 3:30pm and the latest at 7:30pm, with 6pm, 6:30pm and 7:30pm among the most common start times. Most people practice at midday or in the evening, and none start before 9am.

Are there women-only classes?

Yes, The Yoga Room in Benimaclet offers a restorative yin class for women only. It is a slow practice built on long holds, stillness and deep breathing.

Which studios and facilitators should I look at?

Yogabrú in El Cabanyal-El Canyamelar, The Yoga Room in Benimaclet, THE YOGA BOX in Sant Francesc and The Sanctuary | Holistic Fitness Studio in La Gran Via are where most of these classes take place. Facilitators such as Aida Fages Cárceles, Elizabeth Belleratti, Nadine ., Steph W and Olga Bru lead a good share of them.

Can I use a pass to join?

Wellhub, ClassPass and Urban Sports Club are all accepted for some of these classes, and roughly a third of them can be taken with one of these passes. It is worth checking each studio's booking page to see which pass applies to the class you want.
