What the classes look like

Pilates is the practice that shows up most here, and a good share of the classes are built around the time after birth. Polka Mama and Casa Pilates's MAMA RECOVERY REFORMER class both use the reformer, and several other classes come in a reformer-friendly format.

Yoga is also part of the picture. Mom and baby yoga at Yoga Social Club and the Mom & Baby Class at Nays-Yoga give the same kind of time together on the mat, with the baby close by.

When and where to practice

Most classes take place around midday, with a smaller set in the morning. Start times cluster at 10am, 1pm, 2pm and 2:45pm, so a midday slot is usually easy to find. Most classes run for about 50 minutes.

Because the classes are spread across several studios in different parts of the city, it is worth comparing a few before choosing the one closest to your Kiez.

New parents: questions and answers

Which classes are made for postnatal recovery?

Polka Pilates offers Polka Mama, a class that welcomes both pregnancy and the time after birth, and Casa Pilates has a MAMA RECOVERY REFORMER class. Yoga Social Club and Nays-Yoga in Służewiec both run mom and baby sessions.

Are there Pilates classes for new mothers?

Yes. Pilates is the most common practice in this collection, and several classes sit on a reformer. Most classes run for about 50 minutes, while some last a full hour.

Can I bring my baby to these classes?

Yes, the classes are for parents with babies and young children, and several studios name a mom and baby or parent and child format directly. The guide does not list a set age range, so check with the studio before booking.

Which neighborhoods have the most options?

Polka Pilates in Krucza and Mirów, Yoga Social Club in Osiedle Siekierki, To Yoga i Pilates Studio in Stare Bielany, Casa Pilates in Szamoty, and Nays-Yoga in Służewiec all host classes for new parents. Each has its own character, so it helps to look at the descriptions before choosing one.

Do I need a pass, and what language are the classes in?

None of the classes here are offered as passes, so each one is booked on its own. The classes are mostly taught in Polish, and the guide does not list other languages for this collection.
