What the classes are like

Most of what bethesda offers is pilates, and the classes are taught on the equipment rather than only on the mat. The lessons are structured in levels, so the studio's sessions move from level 1 through level 2 and into an open level for those who have already built a steady practice.

The studio works with a handful of facilitators. Angilique, Farida and Nirinjan lead the most classes, and their sessions carry the same careful pace across the week.

How the week runs

Classes at bethesda start early in the day, from 8am, and continue through the late morning, with 10am the most common start time. Nearly all of the schedule falls in the morning, and weekends carry most of the sessions. Saturday, Sunday and Thursday are the days when the studio is busiest.

Each class runs about 50 minutes, which leaves room to arrive, settle and leave without rushing. Because the schedule is concentrated in the morning, it suits people who prefer to begin the day with movement.
