How the week is shaped

Holmes Place Berlin Bismarckstraße is one of a handful of Holmes Place clubs in Berlin. It sits in Charlottenburg and offers a large range of classes, with the bulk of the timetable in strength, core and pelvic floor work, and Pilates. Many of the classes run in the morning, from around 9am to 11am, and a second wave arrives in the evening, often at 6:30pm.

Yoga, mobility and calm classes also appear, alongside qigong and tai chi and somatic work such as Feldenkrais. These are a smaller part of the timetable and suit a slower pace. Most sessions last an hour.

What you can practice here

The club includes an aqua program, with classes that build strength and endurance in the water and are gentle on the joints. A fitness floor offers free weights and equipment, and the classes use both. Pilates is one of the most common practices here, and it can be a good way to start with core and posture work.

Because the studio has dozens of facilitators, you will find a range of teaching styles. The facilitators who lead the most classes include Katherine Finger, Moritz Patzek, Antje Aldag and Stephan Klimpel.

Holmes Place Berlin Bismarckstraße: questions and answers

Where is Holmes Place Berlin Bismarckstraße?

Holmes Place Berlin Bismarckstraße sits on Wilmersdorfer Straße in Charlottenburg. The studio's own website lists it at Schildhornstr. 1, so check the address before your first visit. Its week runs from early morning to the evening, and the classes are spread across mornings, midday and evenings.

When do most classes start?

Most of the classes here start in the morning, and the busiest start times are 9am, 10am and 11am, with 6:30pm also common. The earliest class begins at 7:50am and the latest at 8:30pm. Classes usually last 60 minutes, and a few run shorter, like a 30 minute Aqua HIIT.

What kinds of classes are offered?

Aqua, BODYPUMP, Pilates, Zumba and Feldenkrais are among the classes listed, along with Rücken Fit and a Booty Burn Class. A large share of the timetable is about core and pelvic floor work, strength and Pilates, with a smaller number of yoga, mobility, calm and qigong and tai chi classes. Dozens of facilitators lead them, and Katherine Finger, Moritz Patzek and Antje Aldag teach the most.

Are there water classes?

Yes, the studio offers aqua classes, including Aqua, a low-impact strength and endurance program in the water, and Aqua HIIT, an interval session that also works on strength and mobility. Both are listed among the example classes, and the Aqua classes ask you to shower before getting into the pool for hygiene reasons.

Is there a sauna and a pool?

Yes. The studio describes a sports pool, a large Finnish sauna, a media sauna, a recovery sauna and saunas in the changing rooms, plus a rooftop terrace and a bistro. The club is designed for people who want to train and then linger. This is what the studio says about its own space, and it is worth knowing before you come.
