What the classes are

The studio's classes are built around yoga. Slow Flow Yoga and All levels Flow move through connected postures at a steady pace, while Yin Yoga and Restorative Yoga hold poses longer and ask for stillness. Many of the classes are marked as gentle, calm or restore, so there is room to choose a class that matches the energy you bring.

Beyond yoga, the studio also runs Journaling & Meditation and Align + Refine, which focuses on alignment. Prenatal Yoga is part of the schedule for people who are pregnant.

When and with whom to practice

Most classes take place in the morning, and the earliest start is at 9am. The busiest start times are 9:30am, 6:30pm and 9am, and about a third of the classes fall at weekends. Wednesday, Saturday and Sunday are the days when the studio's schedule is fullest.

Classes usually run for an hour, which makes it easy to fit one into a morning or an evening. Elm Street Yoga has about ten facilitators, and Jackie Hixon, Paula Leeds, Alyssa Johnson, Kristen Lessard and Ana Smith lead the most classes.
