What the classes are

Nearly all classes at Newburyport are reformer Pilates, and most of them place the core and pelvic floor at the center. Reformer Core Foundations and Reformer Elevate sit alongside Reformer Power and Reformer SCULPT, so a student can move from gentler, essential work toward more athletic sessions. MOSTLY MAT: Pilates + Tower brings the tower into the mix for a different kind of practice.

Several classes run 40 minutes, including Reformer Elevate Express and Reformer Momentum Express, while most others run 50 minutes. Themed sessions such as PILATES PARTY ON THE REFORMER add a playful note to the usual rhythm.

When the classes run

Most classes take place in the morning, and a good share of them start before 9am. The busiest start times are 8am, 9am and 10am, with a smaller cluster in the early evening at 6pm. Tuesday, Thursday and Monday are the days when the schedule is fullest.

The weekend and midday carry only a small part of the week, so the studio's rhythm is set mostly by early starts and a steady evening slot.
