About The Pilates Point Studio

The Pilates Point Studio sits on Mendon Road in Cumberland, and its schedule is built around barre and Pilates. Most of the week is filled with classes that move the body through repeated, controlled work for the core, legs and seat, with a steady presence of yoga and strength sessions alongside them. The mornings are a strong part of the rhythm here, and the studio offers a good number of shorter classes for a practice that fits around a busy day.

It suits you if

  • you want a morning practice before work
  • you like focused barre and core work
  • you prefer shorter 45 minute sessions

What the studio practices

The studio's timetable is dominated by barre and Pilates, which together make up a large share of its classes. Barre Fusion and Power Barre run at about an hour, while Pilates Mat and Pilates Sticks cover the Pilates side. Strength, mobility and core work fill in around them, and there are also Zumba Dance and Vinyasa Yoga classes for those who want something different.

The Express format is a feature of the studio. Express Barre: Abs and Glutes, Express Barre Sculpt, Express Pilates Sculpt and Express High Fitness all run at 45 minutes, which makes it easier to fit a practice into a lunch break or an early start.

How the week runs

Mornings lead the week here. More than half of the classes start in the morning, and about a fifth begin before 9am, with 5:30am among the earliest starts. The busiest start times cluster around 8am and 9:15am. Evening classes are also part of the schedule, with about a third of classes starting in the evening and 5:45pm one of the busiest times. Weekend classes make up about a fifth of the timetable.

Typical classes run for about 55 minutes, so the studio's sessions are a little shorter than the hour-long format common elsewhere.

The Pilates Point Studio: questions and answers

What kinds of classes does The Pilates Point Studio offer?

Yes. The Pilates Point Studio has a broad mix of classes, with barre, Pilates, strength and yoga making up much of the schedule. Barre and Pilates classes are the most common, and there are also several Express classes at 45 minutes for a shorter practice.

When do most people practice at The Pilates Point Studio?

Most classes start in the morning, and the busiest start times are 9:15am, 5:30am and 8am. Classes also run in the evening, with 5:45pm one of the busiest starts, and the studio runs classes as early as 5:30am and as late as 7:30pm. Is The Pilates Point Studio a good place to start if I am new to Pilates or barre?
