The classes build steadily from beginner to advanced, and most of them center on strength, the core and the pelvic floor. What the studio offers

The studio is built around pilates in its many forms. Reformer classes are the core of the timetable, running from beginner to advanced, with the reformer level 0 to 1 class asking for some mat experience first. Mat classes cover the same progression, and the studio also offers a cardio pilates class that adds interval-style intensity to the usual precision work.

For people who want something gentler, there is an all-levels reformer class that starts the day with flowing, stabilizing movement. A small number of classes mix pilates with yoga, and one focuses on mobility and stretch.

How the week runs

The timetable is weighted toward the evening, with about half of the classes starting then. Morning classes make up a good share of the rest, starting as early as 7:45am, and the busiest start times fall around 6pm, 7:15pm, 9am and 10:15am. Midday is rarely used, and weekend classes are few.

Thursdays, Fridays and Tuesdays see the most classes, so those are the days to look at if you want the widest choice.

Pilatesfabrik: questions and answers

What kinds of classes does Pilatesfabrik teach?

Pilatesfabrik teaches mostly Pilates, with reformer and mat classes running across a range of levels. Most classes are strength-focused and build on core and pelvic floor work, and a smaller number bring yoga or cardio elements into the mix.

Is there a class for complete beginners?

Yes. Pilatesfabrik has a mat class for beginners at level 0 to 1, and a 10-week prevention course designed for people starting Pilates from scratch, with no prior experience needed. The reformer level 0 to 1 class asks for some mat experience first.

When do most people practice at Pilatesfabrik?

Most classes run in the evening, with about half of the timetable starting in that part of the day. A good number of classes run in the morning, and the earliest starts are at 7:45am. Midday is quiet, and weekend classes are rare.

Is the reformer the main focus?

Reformer Pilates is the most common style here, and it features in more than half of the classes. The studio also runs classes at a range of levels, from beginner to experienced, and a few all-levels sessions.

Who leads the classes?

Pilatesfabrik has a team of about ten facilitators. Anni, Svetlana, Sabine, Ute and Simona lead the most classes, so you will often see them on the timetable.
