ALUNA is a pilates studio at Lintorfer Straße 9 in Ratingen, close to Düsseldorf. Reformer work sits at the center of the timetable, with most classes built around controlled, precise movement for the core, back, pelvis and legs. Alongside them are yoga, barre and a few quieter sessions for focus and rest, so practice here has a steady, strong character.
It suits you if
- you want reformer-based strength and control
- you prefer structured classes at fixed morning or evening times
- you are returning to movement after a long break or want a gentle start

Pilates and reformer at the core
Pilates is the backbone of the studio. Most classes use the reformer, and the traditional reformer and mat flows follow the original method developed by Joseph Pilates. The Coreformer class focuses on the abdominals, back, pelvic floor and hips working together, while Booty Building and Booty Burn on the Mat concentrate on the seat and legs with repetitions and controlled sequences.
The studio also offers a Rücken Release on the reformer, designed for people who sit a lot or carry tension in the shoulders. Its practices move from strong, focused classes to gentler ones, so the range of intensity is wide.
Yoga, barre and a varied team
Yoga is present but less central, with a Vinyasa Flow Beginner class for people new to the practice and a Yin inspired Yoga and Meditation class for longer holds and stillness. Barre, Full Body Flow on the Mat and a certified body workout round out the offer, so a visitor can build a varied week without leaving the studio.
The teaching team is about ten facilitators, with Celina Luna, Sina, Yasmina, Lea, Helena, Luisa and Sophie leading the most classes. Each facilitator brings a slightly different emphasis, which is part of what gives the timetable its range.
ALUNA: questions and answers
Is there something for complete beginners?
Yes, there is a beginner-friendly option. The Vinyasa Flow Beginner class is led by Melanie and is designed for people with little or no yoga experience, with a gentle introduction to flowing movement and breath. Many classes at the studio are marked for all levels or for a first class ever, so a newcomer has several places to start.
What kinds of classes does ALUNA offer?
Pilates is the main practice here, and most classes use the reformer. Core and pelvic floor work runs through much of the timetable, and classes range from traditional reformer and mat Pilates to Booty Burn on the Mat and a Body Workout that is certified as a health prevention course. Yoga, barre and a yin-inspired class with meditation make up the rest.
When do most people practice here?
Classes are most often scheduled in the morning and in the evening, with about a third of them falling in each. The earliest starts are at 7am and the latest at 8pm. Tuesday, Thursday and Friday are the busiest days, and the most common start times are 10am, 5pm, 6pm and 7pm.
What are the classes like?
Most classes run for 50 minutes. Among the example classes are a Good Morning Reformer Flow, a Luna Reformer Flow for the pelvis and legs, a Rücken Release for the back and shoulders, and a Coreformer class that works the deep abdominal muscles. Each class keeps its own name and focus, so it is easy to choose by what the body needs that day.
Where is ALUNA and what language are the classes in?
ALUNA is located at Lintorfer Straße 9 in Ratingen, just outside Düsseldorf. The classes are taught in German, and the studio is a good fit for anyone who wants reformer-based movement with a steady, structured rhythm.
